2020/21 are years of unexpected challenges
Now, more than ever, having a digital presence is essential for our small businesses. After all, when the only way you can communicate and trade is virtually, being on virtual platforms is literally the only way your small business can have any visibility.
But… getting online takes some know-how, and if you don’t have the know-how you need to outsource it.
How to outsource when your income stream has taken a huge hit?
That is why Digistart Solutions has started our own #supportlocal campaign.
We want to do our part to help make 2021 a year of possibilities.
Here is how we helped turn one business around
Having never created a website for the beauty industry, we were keen to put our technical abilities to the test with a website that incorporates pricelists and booking appointments based on time per service.
This is all natural to the consumer, but somebody has to put it into action behind the scenes, so the stylist has more time for clients and spends less time on phone bookings and administration.
Plus, online bookings mean no room for confusion about what time and date a customer has booked – a booking confirmation ensures that everyone is on the same page.
Tammy’s Hair @ Home
With multiple lockdowns Tammy’s home salon was on hold. We were part of her Facebook group and have followed her transformations for a while. She really is extremely talented, and we were inspired by her spirit and her obvious love of her craft.
For a home salon, her social media following is tremendous and her clients are fiercely loyal. It was obvious that the community love for Tammy is strong.
After multiple messages (and convincing Tammy that we really weren’t scammers and there was absolutely no catch), she agreed to let us help her go digital by creating a website to showcase her transformations and allow clients to book her services with the swipe of a finger.
We absolutely loved creating her brand! Her main loves are bright pink and zebra stripes. And that is precisely what she got. We also updated her Facebook group page to match her brand.
Tammy says: “I can’t believe the kindness and consideration of strangers. Ashleigh and Nicky have brought me to a bigger platform than I ever could have myself. Covid has been a huge struggle for a self-employed hairstylist like me. I don’t get paid unless I am working. With my husband on disability as well, this has definitely been and will continue to be a godsend for me and I thank Digistart Solutions from the bottom of my heart! I can’t wait to see you guys in my chair and meet you in person. Thank you so much for what you have done for my small business.”
Nobody knows the trials and tribulations of small businesses like other small businesses and we had a lot of fun with Tammy and her brand. We are honoured to have done our part to #supportlocal and hope that you too can find a way to use your talents or products to help a fellow small business.
